The Canon agent I spoke to said it must be a fault with Windows although I pointed out that various other software disks, including the disk provided for the printer manual, had run with no problems. Duplex printing was one of the reasons I chose this printer so I went back to the Canon helpdesk where another agent recommended me to download the driver software again. These did not work but, once I had figured out what the jargon meant (why do they always asume that someone who has never used a product before is as familiar with it as they are), did point me in the right direction and I eventually found that an obscure sub-box of a sub-box of a sub-box in the on-screen printer control facility contained a box entitled ...
